Businesses of all sizes need to constantly move one step ahead of their competitors to stay relevant, and one easy way to do that is to access people that might not necessarily be in their ecosystem or in their technology space but who come with a fresh lens, not confined by past experience.

When you tap into the creativity of the entire crowd, the ideas you get are phenomenal, and the concept of open innovation plays a key role in stimulating slow-progressing areas of any business.

In this episode, we discuss how Chrysalix, a global venture capital fund with a long history commercializing step-change innovation for resource-intensive industries, is leveraging the power of crowdsourcing.

Dr. Alfred Lam is an innovator, company builder, and investor. He has a Ph.D. in Chemical & Biological Engineering from the University of British Columbia and a BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

With more than 10 years of R&D experience, Alfred has been with Chrysalix since 2012 and he has incubated and launched ventures from academia and is involved in the development of investment theses, deal sourcing, and due diligence, with a special interest in intelligent systems for the energy and resource sectors.

So, listen to this episode of Coffee with Kal, hosted by their VP of Possibilities, Kal K. Sahota, to learn how to take your business to the next level by using the power of the crowd.
