The HeroX Spotlight Series: Introducing Natalie York

BY JODIE WOZNIAK | 1 min read

Introducing our very own, one of a kind, Natalie York. Natalie joined HeroX a little over two years ago and honestly we can’t remember life without her! Officially known as our Strategy Implementation Coordinator there really isn’t much she doesn’t do here. From client relations to government proposals, EA support to project management, we rely on Natalie for just about everything and she kills it day in and day out.

Natalie is a graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada where she studied Public Affairs and Policy Management. However, it wasn’t long before she made the switch from policy to the world of business via the Venture for Canada cohort. This particular program is what brought her to HeroX.

So how did we land a gal like Natalie here at HeroX?

"Working at HeroX was exciting to me because of the impact our challenges can have, both on the industries that host the challenge, and the innovators that participate. Not only do these challenges solve pressing issues and push innovation, but they also provide access to industries and innovation for anyone that wants to participate, regardless of their education, their experience, or where they are from.

I was intrigued by the idea of working at HeroX because of how vast the topics of the challenges are. Being a project manager at HeroX means that every day is different -- it allows me to learn about so many fascinating industries and problems that I didn't even know existed, and I get to work with interesting and intelligent people doing amazing things in their industries and companies, which applies to our clients and our innovators. "

When Natalie isn’t working, you can find her snowboarding the slopes and backcountry of Whistler or whitewater kayaking the beautiful rivers of British Columbia. She’s a thrill-seeker at heart and we love hearing about her adventures!
