Gina Sparrow

Gina Sparrow is our very own Ms. Fix It, more formally known as our Director of Operations. Gina canvasses across multiple teams ensuring processes are in tip-top shape, effective and efficient for day-to-day operations.

Meet our Director of Operations at HeroX. Gina went from Nomad to Newlywed this year!

Over the last 20 years, Gina has worked as a consultant and strategic project manager, helping companies across all industries build efficient systems in branding/marketing, people management, and business administration. She had a three-year stint as a photojournalist for a community newspaper as well, giving her key insight into community engagement. In addition to her core professional activity, Gina moonlights as a master balloon artist and yoga instructor.

Gina is an alumnus of the University of Victoria (BC, Canada) and her post-secondary training included an apprenticeship with Barbara Annis & Associates (Gender Intelligence Group), a global leader in gender diversity and inclusive leadership training. The rest of her education comes from the school of life and extraordinary mentors, stating, “The best way to learn is to commit to things you have no idea how to do.”

She joined HeroX (in 2013, and again in 2019) without hesitation when approached by Co-founder, Christian Cotichini. Having worked together on various entrepreneurial pursuits in the past, his commitment to building a strong company culture and his unstoppable approach to constructive disruption compels her own professional journey. We always say ‘once a HeroXer, always a HeroXer’ and Gina is the perfect example of that, given her long-term commitment.

So how does Gina feel about being a part of HeroX?

“I see HeroX, and crowdsourcing in general, as one of the most effective pathways for solving any magnitude of problem in a cost-effective, efficient, and empowering way. I am fascinated daily by the impact of our challenges and am floored by the simplicity of the model.

I love the structure of our company as a ROWE (results only work environment), we have the freedom to be productive and independent while also feeling strongly connected to one another. Our team is made up of some of the hardest working, most compassionate, and authentic people I have ever had the pleasure of working with.”

Before the lockdowns, Gina was a digital nomad of no fixed address, with adventure as her main pursuit. Since then, her adventure has taken a different form! Gina now permanently resides in a lakeside community on Vancouver Island, BC as a newlywed with two wonderful children and a puppy! In her spare time she loves exploring the coastal rainforest and relaxing over shared meals with friends and family.

Gina truly embodies our culture and core values, we are forever grateful to have her on our team!
