Justifications for “2nd degree correct” answers

Is there a possibility to provide justifications to be considered for “2nd degree correct” answers, while still being on option B, that is automated rating?

Right now, we have a justification input box, however, if we choose to fill that in, we go automatically to option A (that is manual ratings).

I think, to make things clearer, we just need a select box on form to select between option A or B; then, if in option B and justification provided, it will be considered for "2nd degree correct" answers.

Hi Ovidiu,

If you elect to use Option B, Automated Rating, your answers will only be eligible for points if they are completely correct (match the judges/Full Fact's rating exactly). This rule was created because a Somewhat True answer could receive points for Somewhat True, True, and False if we allowed second-degree correct answers without a justification.

You must choose either Option A or Option B for the duration of the competition (with the exception of the Practice Round on Wednesday). Option A allows you to enter justifications and receive points for second-degree correct answers if you choose to go that route.

Hopefully that answers your question. But please let me know if there is anything else!

Thanks again Kyla, this is clear now :)
So, when choosing option B, we are not eligible to receive points from "2nd degree correct" answers.
