Challenge Update: Reservoir Sediment Dredging for Long-Term Management webinar

The Western Dredging Association, the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and HeroX are thrilled to present an update on the WEDA and WODA working groups on reservoir dredging and five emerging technologies for reservoir sediment removal.

Join us on Wednesday, May 12th at 1pm EST/10am PST as we sit down with the five Phase 1 winners.

The five emerging technologies are Phase 1 winners of Reclamation and USACE’s “Guardians of the Reservoir Challenge.” Each Phase 1 winning team received $75,000 and is advancing their technologies in the hopes of participating in a large-scale demonstration of their system in Phase 3 of the challenge. In total, the Guardians of the Reservoir Challenge will award up to $550,000 in prizes.

Landing on the moon in 2024 and establishing a sustained human presence will be one of the most challenging logistical efforts ever attempted. One of those challenges is how to unload payloads once they arrive at the moon.

NASA reached out to the global crowd of innovators to propose solutions for unloading payloads from lunar landers.
