Matt Damon approach?

Hydrogen storage for generating electricity from toilet waste.

It works by mixing biodegradable food waste with toilet waste to get it decomposed by bacteria and stored as a hydrogen for future electricity supply.

Prohibitively expensive technology on Earth but may be suitable for the space station or Moon camp. The costs of transporting 1kg of cargo into space is very high. Why waste the waste which astronauts are going to produce if it produces enough energy to power your entire house on Earth or on the station?

Especially if you want to live of the "land", like Matt Damon in the movie called "The Marcian". Of course, there is no waste destroying bacteria on the station, so it must be brought in and nurtured for this purpose.

PS.
Matt Damon as a back up spokesperson for Artemis or future Mars missions?

Or may be even using it inside a spacesuit?

If you can power your spacesuit's rechargeable battery from methane gases, you can remove the need for flammable hydrogen storage.

Just think of what you can do with 1kg of your own poop in space to power your suit.
