SPACEPORT AMERICA CUP 2022

Over 1,500 students and faculty will gather in Southern New Mexico for the fourth annual Spaceport America Cup in 2022.  Drawn by the opportunity to collaborate and compete at a world class spaceport facility, you represent the best and brightest from more than 150 institutions located all across the USA and around the world.

Join us as we host thousands of the worlds most ambitious collegiate rocketeers in a one of a kind event. Part academic conference and part design-build-fly style competition, the Spaceport America Cup has something to offer students, faculty, industry representatives, and amateur aerospace aficionados alike.

  • Teams with a flight card and declared launch ready on Friday, who launch on Friday, will receive 50 points bonus.
  • There will be no bonus for teams launching on Saturday.

Plan for Thursday

June 22, 2022, 4:20 p.m. PDT by Bill H -- Postflight

Unfortunately, the weather was not kind to us and we had to scrub launches.

Assuming no extra rain tonight, we anticipate a full day of operations tomorrow.

Spaceport Gates will open at 4:00 AM.

Launches will start at sunrise (6:00 AM) and will continue all day.

Morning flyers meeting will be as previously scheduled (10:00 AM), and other scheduled activity on Thursday will be in accordance with the schedule in the Integrated Master Schedule.

If we anticipate any delays due to weather, we will make further announcements early Thursday morning.

[edit] For teams planning to launch prior to 10:00, follow the guidance from the Launch Operations staff.

Wednesday Road condition update

June 22, 2022, 11:37 a.m. PDT by ESRA Executive Director

12:30pm - County officials are grading and inspecting the roads.  Low cloud cover will limit us to only 10k flights today.  We should know around 1pm if the road is passable.

Rains should be over for the majority of the week.
