Hello,
I’m looking for students to join me in a competition that can give you a head start as you consider a career in the renewable energy industry. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar District Cup Collegiate Design Competition challenges student teams to design solar-plus-storage solutions for real district use cases.

Benefits of participating include:
• Training and mentorship from solar energy experts from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and private solar companies
• Access to powerful modeling tools used every day in the solar industry
• Experience working with real data and design constraints for solar-plus-battery energy storage systems
• Entrance to an optional renewable energy industry conference for professional networking
• Practice pitching to industry experts
• The ability to work around your school schedule because training webinars are presented online (and recorded).

Here are some useful resources to learn more about the competition:
• Promotional video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/3hSfnw48q88
• DOE page at energy.gov/eere/solar/solar-district-cup has information about the history of the Solar District Cup and past winners
• Registration info, timeline, and official rules on herox.com/solardistrictcup.

The deadline to register a team for the one-semester (or two-quarter) division is January 25, 2024, 5 p.m. ET.

Let me know if you’re interested!
