How will your app make an impact?
MY HOME’sApplication concept:

MY HOME would motivate Austinites to complete daily civic tasks that will have a small impact in one home, but a large impact in a city. Daily Tasks would be available through the app with popup notification option. Completing a task and sharing to social media would give the user credit for the day and improve their ranking to show their friends and neighbors how much they care to improve the city of Austin. Companies could sponsor daily posts to help incentives users to complete the tasks.

MY HOME’s Example Tasks:

“Replace one lightbulb in your home with an energy efficient lightbulb today! Share an image of the new club on social media to receive 1 free Led highly energy efficient lightbulb! - Clean Energy Monday Sponsored by Phillips inc.”

• LED is a highly energy efficient lighting technology, and has the potential to fundamentally change the future of lighting in the United States.  Residential LEDs -- especially ENERGY STAR rated products -- use at least 75% less energy, and last 25 times longer, than incandescent lighting.
• Widespread use of LED lighting has the greatest potential impact on energy savings in the United States. By 2027, widespread use of LEDs could save about 348 TWh (compared to no LED use) of electricity: This is the equivalent annual electrical output of 44 large electric power plants (1000 megawatts each), and a total savings of more than $30 billion at today’s electricity prices.
• Learn more about how energy-efficient lightbulbs compare with traditional incandescents.
MY HOME’s Example Social share:

“Today I helped make Austin a better place by replacing my non energy efficient bulbs with highly efficient clean energy lightbulbs!! “
Why is your app next-generation?
People are looking for a way to improve their cities and the planet now now that ever. This community style app will be fun to use and make it easy for everyone to make a difference.
Tell us about your superhero team.
I have a team of advisors who are experts in the arts, energy, safety, education, and health departments. I will be seeking out an expert in transportation department. I will also be seeking out the best app developers in Austin.
My safety expert is a firefighter in the Austin area with over ten year experience keeping the city safe. Our education expert is a local school teacher. Our energy expert is an analyst for an energy consulting firm. Our art expert is myself, a photographer in Austin for ten years and owner of ART.WORK Austin. Our health expert is an ER doctor in Austin. All will provide ideas for daily tasks that require a small effort on the users part, but make a huge combined effect.
Accessibility and Inclusion
Daily tasks could be included to directly affect under-served communities. A task such as "Donate an item to Goodwill and Cisco will donate a dollar to providing computers to under-served communities."
If your team wins, what will the prize money be used for?
