short description
Soft drink bottles, audio or video cassette tapes may be melted and extruded as polyester fibers re purposed along with fabric sample books.

Describe your idea
Textile production has always been a source of water, air and solid waste pollution. As well, much of the textile waste produced by manufacturers and consumers has been buried in landfills. Hundreds of pounds of fabric sample books each month have been recovered with the zero waste strategy in mind according to Carole LeClair from Austin Creative Reuse. Polyester fibers from soft drink bottles and old audio or video cassette tapes (materials mentioned by Christopher Jones of Half Price books) made of PET, polyethylene terephthalate, may be melted and extruded as fibers… polyester fibers upcycled along with other materials.
Textile recycling saves virgin raw materials as fibrous components of worn fabric can be separated and returned to textile production. Good Will excess surplus of heavy worn items may be diverted from a land fill along with audio, video tapes and other items from Half Price Books that may be upcycled in a polyester fiber mill process, melted and extruded as raw fibers in a yarn spinning operation here from the Heart of Texas.
I propose a trade mark and service mark that may afford occupational counselors and English as a Second Language therapists for refugees. A technical innovation can put a fashion business ahead of the competition. Kim Thittichai mentions Michelle Edinburgh, Katarina Thorson and Sissy Rooney in her book: "Reclaimed Textiles" upon the subject of "Sock-monkey therapy" and inspires a Jung shadow with 'Sock-Owl and Sock-piggy therapy' from pages 36-39 in this book I cite. Culture shock is just one aspect that art therapy may mend for refugees at the MRC Open Arms shop here in Austin, Texas. A portfolio of patents and trademarks may reflect technical superiority in inventing new fabrics as well up-cycling fabrics in recycling processing. Labor sourcing addressing a living wage and ethics in this industry will win customer loyalty. As well this strategy may optimize price range with our key customers.
I have contacted the executive director of PLAN of Central Texas, Inc. Doctor Debbie Webb recently concerning developing a labor pool for people with disabilities and believe that the proposed art therapy may serve refugees with culture shock as well people with disabilities. I propose a portion of the cash flow from this enterprise go towards enabling access to education for females in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and Afghanistan... this the root of refugee upheaval. I aim to address Texas Senate Bill 208, proposing art therapy rehabilitation for different abled and refugees addressing US HB 803 WIOA, the Workforce Innovations Opportunity Act in a Re Verse Pitch.
Describe your knowledge, skills and abilities
I have the Knowledge, skills and ability to manage this project for profit and recommend the book “Project Management For Profit: A Failsafe Guide To Keeping Projects On Track And On Budget” to account for $13.50 an hour for the Difficult to employ. The Open Arms Shop, MRC Austin, may have value added by Serenity Sells in development direction with my Trade Mark proposal and utilize a TM globally.
Describe how your idea will utilize materials and create jobs
Zero Waste policy in Austin, Texas as well around the world will optimize jobs for humans with a living wage and human rights, while being environmentally aware. Texas Senate Bill 208 will be addressed, developing labor pools for people with disabilities. I propose 'art therapy' in the manufacture of 'sock monkeys', 'sock owls', 'sock cats' with the recovered materials. Addressing culture shock in art therapy is the intent of this occupational therapy exercise in puppet theater. This is as well a marketing tool to popularize the developed trade mark, hence growing the labor pool for the difficult to employ. Whole fashion lines may be developed from this proposed art therapy puppet theater that popularizes a trade mark in the market place. A service mark indicating soft goods manufactured by refugees and people with disabilities is part of the marketing and promotion strategy.
Describe the environmental impact
The Environmental impact as well end of life cycle may be based on a popularized Trade Mark with Market shelf life (think Beanie Babies social causal justice that’s casual). A Trade Mark investment may channel capital in a manner to address TX HB 2714 E-Waste Laws and the Zero Waste Plan of Austin, Texas. Serenity Sells may address TX SB 208 for employing disabled, veteran, and address globally a VHS PET DVD CD Solution to recover chromium and trace rare earth elements. Audio and video cassette tapes (materials mentioned by Christopher Jones of Half Price books) made of PET, polyethylene terephthalate, may be melted and extruded as fibers… polyester fibers upcycled along with other materials. In the 1990's companies as Wellman forged trade marks on Fortel and EcoSpun, a recycled polyester fiber (from soft drink bottles) as well the company Hoechst Celanese registering the trade mark Trevira II. Developing an intellectual property portfolio of trade marks and patents to address the Zero Waste strategy of Austin Texas will optimize our environmental impact.
Describe the product end of life-cycle
The Environmental impact as well end of life cycle may be based on a popularized Trade Mark with Market shelf life (think Beanie Babies social causal justice that’s casual). The fibers themselves of the product are recycled materials. A popularized trade mark in the fashion industry, may keep soft goods and textile products out of the land fill by adding value to the soft good or garment manufactured. Textile fibers may be born again as pulp for recycling paper products as well. This will extend the re purposed fiber born again life cycle.
Additional information
Polyethylene terephthalate, PET dissolves at room temperature in halogenated strong acids such as trifluoroacetic acid. Chemicals that Dissolve Polyester Film: Hexafluoroisopropanol, m-Cresol, o-Chlorophenol, Phenol/Tetrachloroethane and Dichloroacetic Acid. PET dissolves quite well and quickly in 1,1,1,3,3,3-Hexafluoro-2-propanol. I am also finding from research academics suggesting: Dissolve PET it in Dichloromethane (DCM) and put in a magnetic mixer according to Research Gate, I contacted Christopher Jones of Half Price Books to address developing Good Will Veteran and Disabled labor pool development, contacting organizations in Missouri and offering SBIR Research and Development proposals. An acid bath may retrieve the Lanthanide series trace rare earth elements as well chromium from VHS, and audio cassette tape as well similar chemical solution process to salvage from DVD and CD's that Half Price Books and perhaps Good Will or other organizations may need to properly of re purposing and re processing materials in an environmentally accountable and economically viable manner. Polyester fibers may be manufactured from plastic bottles, audio cassettes, video cassettes and other materials containing PET by melting and extruding raw fibers in a yarn spinning operation as a polyester fiber mill process business operation. Using a fresnel lens, plenty of heat at minimal electric costs may be utilized to melt the Polyethylene terephthalate, PET from many types of recovered materials from plastic bottles to audio and video cassettes. Ideally, I envision a contraption the size of a garbage dumpster, a mobile unit, that may process PET materials on site with clean green energy, converting plastic bottles and such into spools of polyester fiber thread. A similar process in design may address aluminum as well nuances in organic and non organic fibers for pulp paper, plastics and metals. I may envision an autonomous materials re-manufacturing receptacle the size of a mobile garbage dumpster. One that specializes in metals, one for plastics and paper fiber processing. A reward system must be addressed to affect social behavior to utilize recycling manufacturing bins as I envision and policy may assist.
