3. Opportunity: Which pillar of well-being, and which aspect of that particular pillar, are being addressed by the idea? In what way does it influence a pillar? What type of individual and community would benefit from the idea?
Our idea encompasses all pillars of wellbeing which builds purpose behind the Lululemon community. We are building a series of Lululemon experiences centered around the eight pillars of wellbeing drawing in community members interested in elevating their whole self. Each colored piece of Lululemon merchandise will represent a building block of wellness giving a personal reminder of their growth journey. These experiences will be focused on enhancing our wellness through color-specific events.
4. Innovation: Why is your idea unique, novel, and/or impactful? What will the future look like if we’re successful in bringing your idea to life? How does the proposed solution differ from existing solutions addressing human well-being?
We are giving our guests a sense of purpose and growth. Previously, we were unaware of the core values of mind, body & community. We want people to know the brand for what it is and build a community around it. The future of Lululemon is a purpose-driven community. You walk into a store and discover your sense of purpose through experiences & mindful purchasing. When we get dressed, we don't think about our purpose, but with Lululemon, we will constantly be reminded of our core human values.
5. Action Plan: Please justify and briefly describe the major steps needed to make this idea a reality. Does the technology and understanding exist now? Is it likely to exist in the next 3-5 years?
There is much research supporting the 8 major pillars of wellbeing. By simply focusing and expanding Lululemons programming and events towards the 8 aspects of wellbeing and not just the physical which is heavily emphasized now, we will be welcoming more people into the Lululemon community. We will work with the design team to specially curate colored apparel and products with an underlying purpose of wellbeing. We will hire wellness experts to design programming that is easy to implement in all stores across the world, introducing the idea that Lululemon is not just a clothing store but a place for people to find their purpose and join a community of people on a journey to grow their whole self. We will create a training program to educate all Lululemon team members on the values of well being and serve as wellness coaches in store. The research and technology of this programming and knowledge around wellness already exist. We need to bring this purpose to the designers to emphasize the core values behind Lululemon. At the end of the day, we hope to have each person of the worldwide community feel welcome to join the Lululemon community of purpose. That is a purpose behind the apparel we already know and a global community of impact-driven people that attend regular programming centered around the wellbeing pillars.
