The Needs of the Body
Equip each store with a first-aid station, AED, fire extinguisher, and free public restroom.
3. Opportunity: Which pillar of well-being, and which aspect of that particular pillar, are being addressed by the idea? In what way does it influence a pillar? What type of individual and community would benefit from the idea?
This idea will help customers to improve their bodies and minds. It will give them peace of mind to know that a rest stop, Automated External Defibrillator, extinguisher, and first aid kit are near, and their bodies will benefit should they ever have need of them. It will benefit everyone, or could.
4. Innovation: Why is your idea unique, novel, and/or impactful? What will the future look like if we’re successful in bringing your idea to life? How does the proposed solution differ from existing solutions addressing human well-being?
Most stores focus on sales. With this in mind, some limit restrooms to their customers. Instead, focus on making people happy. Offer restrooms to whoever in the community needs them. In addition, anyone in the community can need an AED, fire extinguisher, or first aid kit at some point. Offer these, and you will improve the peace-of-mind AND health of your communities.
5. Action Plan: Please justify and briefly describe the major steps needed to make this idea a reality. Does the technology and understanding exist now? Is it likely to exist in the next 3-5 years?
The technology and understanding exist now. You would need to A. Buy the AEDs, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits. B. Train your employees on how to use them. C. Keep the AED and fire extinguisher up-to-date, keep the first aid kit stocked (will need a checklist for when medications expire). D. Build a public restroom. E. Have a daily cleaning schedule for the restroom. And F. Advertise that you have these things!
