Dr. Satyanarayan Dev is an Associate Professor and Chair of Biological Systems Engineering at Florida A&M University, with interdisciplinary expertise in biological engineering, food engineering, microbiology, sensing, and sustainable systems. His work focuses on translating engineering science into practical technologies that strengthen resilience, resource efficiency, environmental monitoring, food safety, and human well-being. As a faculty leader at a Minority Serving Institution, Dr. Dev is committed to building research capacity, mentoring the next generation of innovators, and developing mission-relevant technologies that can advance NASA’s goals in exploration, sustainability, and technology commercialization. Through the NASA MPLAN Challenge, he seeks to expand collaborative pathways between FAMU, NASA Mission Directorates, industry stakeholders, and students to move bold research ideas toward practical implementation.
