“Energy crisis, Climate change”
bio
Md. Moniruzzaman is an electrical engineer and renewable energy innovator from Bangladesh with nearly two decades of experience in power transmission systems, grid infrastructure, and industrial energy operations. He currently serves as an Executive Engineer at the Power Grid Bangladesh Plc, where he works on large-scale high-voltage transmission and substation development projects. He is the originator of the Two-Phase Wave Energy System, a simplified architecture that converts ocean wave motion into pumped water for onshore hydropower generation. By separating offshore energy capture from electricity generation, the concept aims to reduce the technical complexity that has historically limited the commercial success of wave energy technologies. Through his initiative Archimedes’ Legacy, Moniruzzaman explores scalable mechanical approaches to wave, river, and reservoir-based renewable energy systems designed for coastal and climate-vulnerable regions. His work has been featured in international clean-energy media and recognized by organizations such as the Energy Globe Foundation and the Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition. His mission is to help unlock the vast, underutilized power of ocean waves and transform it into practical, affordable clean energy for communities worldwide.
