Jorge G Sanchez is the founder and CEO of THOR Energy, an energy consulting firm established in 2016 based in San Antonio, Texas, the company currently develops and finances energy efficiency projects in different countries. Jorge Sanchez has experience in the development of energy projects, both fossil and renewable. From 2000 to 2010 Jorge was awarded oil contracts for the maintenance of fire and environmental protection equipment at marine terminals for the reception of crude oil. He has also obtained contracts for the maintenance of offshore platforms such as Cantarell and Ku Maloob Zaap located in the Gulf of Mexico. Envisioning the rapid change and advancement of renewable energy, in 2011 Jorge started to develop the renewable energy division within the company. Since then, THOR Energy has become a pioneer in energy solutions for developing countries, Jorge has taken courses, certifications, and specializations in energy at Solar Power International, Nrel and Technische Universiteit Delft. Jorge has organized and managed renewable energy events in several countries to promote the use of energy efficiency and renewable energy with U.S.-made products that focus on the qualities of the U.S. renewable energy industry. In June 2016, Jorge proposed and organized a binational renewable energy forum with the support of the city of San Antonio, TX. He is also a member of the Nature Conservancy and is actively involved within the community promoting good green habits and practices. He has also lectured on the practical use and application of technology in energy to several universities as well as to several business organizations in various countries. Jorge has written several articles on renewable energy, ecology, energy efficiency and economic culture that are published in economic business magazines. He is an international business professional who lectures, organizes and participates in events on business internationalization for organizations and agencies such as SBA Small Business Administration, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Free Trade Alliance, Business Forward of Washington DC and several universities. Jorge has mentored several universities on International Business Competencies. He also traveled with San Antonio city officials to other countries to promote the city of San Antonio.
