I am an academic radiation oncologist who has been involved with clinical trial development since joining the VCU Massey Cancer Center in 2008. Since 2011, I have represented VCU at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center where I am the director of clinical research for the radiation oncology service. In addition to mentoring and training medical students and residents at each institution, my academic efforts are focused on developing clinical trials for lung and prostate cancer. I am currently the principal investigator for two randomized clinical trials, including the Veterans Affairs Lung Cancer Surgery or Stereotactic Radiotherapy phase III randomized clinical trial that is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2016.
