Dr. Charles Lewinsohn has a broad range of energy conversion, high temperature materials, and solid-state, electrochemical device commercialization development and manufacturing experience. He has led a variety of complex, multi-disciplinary industrial research projects for energy conversion and power generation, which have included pre-combustion carbon capture technology, solid-state batteries, advanced nuclear fuel fabrication, high temperature heat exchangers for molten-salt thermal energy storage, and assembly of solid oxide fuel cells. He has also been involved in development of materials and components for high temperature gas turbines, supercritical CO2 cycles, cryogenic carbon capture, and NOx sensors. Dr. Charles Lewinsohn spent over 20 years in industry scaling advanced energy technology incorporating electroactive or high-temperature materials for commercial applications. He has a technical background in reliability of ceramics at high temperatures and industrial experience handling bulk ceramic powder and fabricating ceramic components. In 2019, Dr. Lewinsohn founded Rational Solutions LLC to develop and commercialize advanced energy solutions.
