Cassandra has over 20 years of knowledge and experience in the commercialization of clean technologies, especially in regard to solar energy technology. She is considered a national expert and pioneer in the alternative building and energy industries. Cassandra has specialized in creating market opportunities for renewable energy and other clean energy technologies that can effectively displace current energy systems. Cassandra has been at the forefront of the development of policy, technology and increased market share for green energy and building practices. Cassandra’s background includes dynamic positions in both the public and private sectors; forming her unique perspective on business opportunities in the solar energy field. Cassandra held several positions that utilized her technical knowledge of clean energy technologies, as well as policy development and finance. Her work for the Alliance to Save Energy, a Washington, DC think tank, was focused on a national initiative to increase the overall efficiency in construction through the adoption of energy efficient codes and standards. Her role as the Director of the Office of Sustainable Business in NJ, allowed her to develop policies and programs that specifically enhanced the business case for clean technologies; including the Sustainable Development Loan Fund, the Corporate Sustainability Initiative, and the “Building a Greener New Jersey” initiative. All of these programs focused on creating a vibrant market for clean technologies. In Cassandra’s position as the Renewable Energy Manager for the State of New Jersey, she created award winning programs and regulatory policy to bolster the renewable energy marketplace in NJ. Cassandra is often accredited with creating the most comprehensive set of policies for market transformation of renewable energy technologies. She received the “Governmental Leadership” award in 2004 from the American Solar Energy Society and her programs received awards in 2003 and 2004 from the American Wind Energy Association and the Solar Energy Industries Association. In recent years, she has directed business development, sales, engineering and project management for several solar power engineering and integration firms, having contributed on projects that represented a significant portion of the total installed solar power base in NJ as well as national applications.
