“Need to accelerate clean energy technologies for combating climate change & ensuring energy security”
bio
Aakansha founded Energy Scalable, a Public Benefit Corporation to focus on solving energy challenges through innovation, research, and accelerated development in clean energy technologies. She also serves as the Proposal Manager for Sparkfund, a rapidly growing company offering energy solutions using "as a service" methodology. Aakansha has managed proposals and business plans for smart city projects at Citelum, an EDF Group’s Subsidiary. She served as a Project Engineer for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects at Recurrent Innovative Solutions, where she created a $35M business plan for rooftop solar investment in the Washington DC metro area and managed grant applications leading innovative research and field implementation of new technologies, such as bifacial solar panels and distributed energy resource management. Before joining the industry, Aakansha conducted interdisciplinary experimental research as a full-time senior research staff for the Mechanics of Materials Laboratory at IIT-Bombay. Her work (published in IEEE) contributed to more than 20% improvement in the strength of a bio-compatible polymeric material through detailed design of experiments, optimal sample processing, and mechanical testing methods, leading to greater material reliability for its usage in biomedical applications. Aakansha specializes in a systems-thinking approach and is interested in applying additive manufacturing, computational modeling. and lean six sigma principles for accelerating the development of renewable energy (solar, wind, and geothermal) technologies. Aakansha has a background in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and she holds an M.S. degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, specializing in Energy Infrastructure Systems. She has previously served on the Board of National Capital Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers and the Finance Committee of the Clean Energy Technical Workgroup of Montgomery County.
