Code of Conduct

HeroX.com is dedicated to providing a harassment-free, collaborative experience for everyone.

In the spirit of open innovation, HeroX provides a space for people to solve the problems that are important or are of interest to them. We encourage friendly competition and respect across our site.

Therefore, we do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. By participating on our platform, you are agreeing to the following Community Code of Conduct, the Terms of Use, and any other terms included by HeroX and/or Sponsors and Partners on the Platform. If you do not accept the Code of Conduct, the Terms of Use, and any other terms, you are not allowed to use this Platform. These rules are your guide to getting the most out of our Challenge Community.

This code of conduct applies to all HeroX spaces, including all forums, pages and spaces powered by HeroX both online and offline. Anyone who violates this code of conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from these spaces at the discretion of the HeroX team.

HeroX space(s) may have additional rules in place; they will be clearly made available to participants. Participants are responsible for knowing and abiding by these rules.

  • ‘Reverse’ -isms, including ‘reverse racism,’ ‘reverse sexism,’ and ‘cisphobia’

  • Unwelcome comments regarding a person’s lifestyle choices and practices, including those related to food, health, parenting, drugs, and employment.

Reporting
If you are being harassed while participating on the HeroX platform, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact us using the page form here. Alternatively, you can just flag the post as "spam or abuse" on the actual forum. If the person who is harassing you is on the team, they will recuse themselves from handling your incident. We will respond as promptly as we can.

In order to protect volunteers from abuse and burnout, we reserve the right to reject any report we believe to have been made in bad faith. Reports intended to silence legitimate criticism may be deleted without response.

We will respect confidentiality requests for the purpose of protecting victims of abuse. At our discretion, we may publicly name a person about whom we’ve received harassment complaints, or privately warn third parties about them, if we believe that doing so will increase the safety of HeroX members or the general public. We will not name harassment victims without their affirmative consent.

Consequences

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, HeroX may take any action they deem appropriate. This can include a warning message for minor infractions, and up to a permanent ban from all HeroX spaces. Identification of the harasser may be made to other HeroX members, sponsors or other community members if needed.

We thank you for your support and look forward to your participation in our community!
