Screening needs to be accessible and understandable. Barriers to overcome are the ability to support the affected patients and families with services that accompany the treatment or study trials, such as medical paper work, navigating the medical terminologies in understandable language, guidance through the jungle of health insurance and eligibility, and the providing necessary services such as rides and scheduling,etc.
Cost in hiring available professional with a medical insurance and health system background. One way to work around this obstacle is to pilot with volunteer professionals.
I believe the accrual rates will be exponential growth as we relieve the stress for one patient who will in turn share with another so that mathematically, it's like 1 to 1 resulting in 2 patients who will continue in their learning how to navigate the treatment plan; 2 with 2 resulting in 4 firmly participating patients, 4 with 4 creating 8; 8 with 8 resulting in 16 participants; 16 with 16 resulting in 32 participants; and so on... as it continue to grow exponentially.
Spreading the words of available services; offering the service as we learn of patients seeking care.
Consent forms and waiver and confidentiality must be signed to protect the patient and staff.
