Background
Housing plays a critical role in shaping health outcomes, especially in the context of rapid urbanization, increasing climate variability, and persistent inequalities in access to decent shelter. In Kenya, millions of families live in informal settlements and substandard housing conditions that expose them to multiple health risks, including respiratory diseases, vector-borne illnesses, mental stress, and injuries.
Recognizing housing as a social determinant of health, this webinar seeks to explore the intersection of built environments, public health, and policy in the quest for healthy housing. It will bring together professionals from architecture, public health, and policy to engage in a multidisciplinary dialogue aimed at advancing a shared vision of homes that are safe, dignified, and health-enhancing.
