The Lottery Competition
short description
The Lottery Competition is designed to create social good by fostering changes to lotteries.

Your Story

What are you passionate about? [public]
My massively transformative purpose is to build structures that effectively allocate resources towards the problems and issues that are deemed important to the public. I believe that in our new digital world, communities of people have the ability to take on and solve grand challenges.

Your Prize Concept

If you are selected as a Visioneer, you will develop a prize concept in collaboration with a company sponsor, fellow innovators, and the XPRIZE team. This may or may not be the challenge concept you propose in this application.

What do you prize? [public]
I prize the power of communities
What Grand Challenge do you propose a prize competition should solve? [public]
An incentive prize competition should solve the grand challenge of making positive changes to lotteries.

There is huge potential to create positive impacts by making changes to lotteries, but lotteries have been relatively slow to make changes that benefit society.

Government bottlenecks, lack of market incentives, and other barriers prevent these positive changes.

An incentive prize competition should break through these barriers to enable changes that positively impact our world.

(Examples of changes that could create positive impacts can be found here: )
What would the world look like when the Grand Challenge is solved? [public]
The solution to this grand challenge will set off a domino effect of socially beneficial changes to lotteries all around the world.

This will create positive effects for billions of people by:
a) Reducing irresponsible lottery operations and decreasing negative effects caused by lotteries.

b) Helping to solve many other grand challenges by improving one of the largest mechanisms for raising funds on the planet. Lotteries will provide additional funding to the most socially beneficial organizations/causes and fuel positive changes around the world.
