This is the story of the creation of a steel building. The story focuses on the structural design of Lee Hall, a 55,000 sq. ft. LEED certified educational building on the campus of Clemson University. It begins with the building design and continues through project engineering, building modeling, and shop drawing development. It then transitions to the life cycle of steel from the recycling of scrap to the production, fabrication, and erection of the steel at the building site.
