Immune System Boosting Ingredient for Beverage Application

Description

Suntory is seeking commercially available or late-stage development ingredients relevant to gut health to provide a "boost" to the immune system.

Dietary fiber and bacteria (live/killed) are out of scope for this need.

Background

Consumers are paying more attention to, and seeking, products that support gut health. Gut health claims are popular in variety of dairy products mostly proven by dietary fiber and bacteria (live/killed). High fiber content confectionary products also provide multiple choices in this area.

The goal of this project is to identify ingredients to provide an immune system "boost" aside from fiber and bacteria and to create a new opportunity for ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages.

Key Success Criteria

Must-Haves

• Samples should be available for Suntory's internal evaluation
• Good solubility, pH stable (< 4.0 is more desirable), and heat stable (UHT condition)

Nice-to-Haves

• Non-GMO, Non-allergy
• Halal compliance
• Minimum taste and color impact in final beverage
• Plant derived or natural source of ingredient is desirable.

Possible Approaches

We prefer commercially available or late stage development ingredients.

Approaches not of interest

Fibers or bacteria.

Preferred Collaboration types

Suntory would prefer to purchase commercially available ingredients directly from the supplier.

For ingredients at a late development stage, Suntory is open to different modes of collaboration and is willing to agree to NDAs/MTAs for further discussions if required.
