A number of questions have come up regarding what gravity the system will operate in. The challenge is purposefully ambiguous relative to gravity because we are looking for solutions for both micro-gravity and partial gravity applications. A micro-gravity compatible carbon management system could be used for a Mars transit vehicle or an orbiting space station. A partial gravity system would be applicable to Lunar and Mars planetary habitats. In summary, respective to gravity, NASA is interested in all solutions - solutions that only operate in micro-gravity, solutions that only operate in partial gravity, and solutions that are gravity independent.
