The Extreme Architecture unit is an academic research unit from the ARCHITECTURE DEPARTMENT OF THE FEDERICO SANTA MARÍA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY) that develops architecture for remote areas where human life is viable only with technology.
We have made more than 10 refuges (shelter) in Ice Fields, Antarctica, Andes Mountains. The shelters have been equipped with sanitary equipment and dry toilets (with urine and feces separators) have been successfully tested.
The Extreme Architecture Unit works under the wing of the Federico Santa María Technical University in Valparaíso, Chile
