introduction
title
I am the patient!
short description
To ensure child's voice is properly heard one can through physical settings support focus on the child - the child is the patient (0-18 yrs)
Eligibility
Unfold your idea into a story connected to a specific situation (max 5000 characters)
The child's environment should be one that the child can comprehend and navigate in as well as being inviting to the child.
When the child arrives at the hospital it should easily be able to find the different units by it self - colors and pictograms lead the way to the reception/unit.
Desks should be in different heights or stairs should be developed to aid the child to climb up to the height.
The child should itself be able to call attention on the staff - fx a bell to tell the nurse "I am here" (it is fun and doesn't make the child shy + the nurse can use it as a conversation "hello, did you ring the bell? Welcome")
In consultation chairs and tables should be able to vary in height to accommodate the child to ensure the child's possibility to participate in conversation
The surroundings should help children understand their body, illness and possible examinations (x-ray, scans, sedations, pictures of the body, skeleton etc.)
All examinations should be done in a way where the child can participate - steps onto the bed, bed can lower so the child can climb on by itself etc.
Toilets + sinks should vary in size
Freedom to walk and do what you want until you have to see the doctor - buzzer, sms etc.

Generally I have put focus on:
- making the child as involved in the procedures and examinations as possible
- including the child in the communication processes as much as possible to offer the child as much control as possible
- different ways to help the child prepare, understand and accept the illness and implications
How can your idea be implemented? Who can be a partner or supplier in realising it?
I think this idea is fairly cheap and easy to implement - it takes a look through the child's eye and an understanding of what experiences strengthens the child
