Tarique has over 25 years of experience in the Energy and Power Generation sectors. His Power Generation experience spans from Naval Nuclear Power to Renewable Energy development. His expertise in cogeneration and simple-cycle technologies (10 MW - 120 MW) includes roles in Gas & Steam Turbine engineering, leading FMEA/RCFA investigations, and spearheading LTSA Account Management and After-Market Sales for some of the world’s largest German, Sweden, and US based OEMs. In his current role as Sustainability Finance Advisor with Nrg Energy, Inc., he advises large Commercial & Industrial property owners on methods to secure long-term sustainable energy project financing to augment and preserve their CAPEX budgets, while designing impactful sustainability & resilience solutions for deep community impact. He’s also on the Executive Committee of the US Business Council for Sustainable Development and is Co-Chair of it’s Gulf Coast Carbon Collaborative/Energy Transition Workgroup. As a independant Consultant, he's provided leadership on various commercial and industrial projects involving Energy Procurement, Energy Efficiency, Project Development, and Third-Party Verification. As a Registered Professionals with Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Financiers, he's also advised Commercial & Industrial property owners in Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency finance. In the residential market, his commitment to community enabled his firm to secure utility energy efficiency incentives and grant to provide no-cost services to financially challenged (LMI-C) customers in multiple Utility service regions Within the spheres of Academia and Outreach, he sits on the Industrial Advisory Board of Prairie View A&M University’s Engineering Dept., designed and leads a transformative HBCU/MSI industry course on Climate Action, and Energy+Ai Nexus at PVAMU, and is on the LSAMP Advisory Board at Texas A&M University. He also contributes to the Biomimicry Institute as an Expert Panelist in the areas of Sustainability, Renewable Energy and Nature Based Solutions. He’s has a patent pending in Personal Protective Aerosol Technology, and has also Co-Authored a published paper on controlling Nitrous Oxide Emissions “OPERATION EXPERIENCE WITH ALSTOM POWER’S GT10 GAS TURBINE AND ULTRA LOW NOX COMBUSTION CONTROL” resulting from collaborative research with Alstom Power, Sweden and MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
