“Doing well by doing good”
bio
Before co-founding OffGridBox USA, I was the first employee at a startup while a global accelerator led their oversubscribed round of $2m. I participated in global accelerators and awards including Techstars, MassChallenge, Greentown Labs, Not Impossible Awards, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Initiative for Global Prosperity. After the success of an outsourcing company I started in 2013, I began using the company's profits to invest in socially driven entrepreneurs. Opportunistically, I began buying real estate during university and working with property managers to generate lucrative AirBnBs. Combining my real estate and angel investing experience, I established a family office paving the way for a perpetual fund for future generations. My grandfather, who was raised on a rural farm in Colombia, South America with dirt floors, might have shed a tear if he didn't pass away during my undergraduate degree, which he funded from his own entrepreneurial pursuits. My career involved successful fundraising from angels, agencies, and venture capitalists. I am happy to share my thoughts and introductions for fundraising and sales. I am a Superconnector for Harvard University, and a Mentor for MIT (EnergyHack), Harvard Law School, Climate Solutions Living Lab, and The Canadian Entrepreneurs in New England (CENE). I am a voice for social entrepreneurship as a public speaker at events hosted by MIT Sloan School of Management, Shell TechWorks, Hult International Business School, Clean Energy Venture Group, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, World Climate, Northeast Clean Energy Council, Horizon18, Franklin University Switzerland, Northeastern University, and Harvard College.
