Rebecca Sorensen has worked with individuals with disabilities and their families for over 18 years. Her work includes program development and evaluation, resource management, individual and family support, and political advocacy. She received her Bachelor of Arts in the Humanities from the University of Maryland in College Park, and her Masters in Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She currently works in Pittsboro for the non-profit XDS, Inc. as a Community Development Consultant organizing and implementing a unique community housing initiative to serve adults living with mental illness. The focus of her work is on healing and recovery through natural interactions and processes.
