Chris Tolton is a former US Naval Officer with a background in remote sensing. Previously, Chris was a Director at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland Maryland leading geospatial intelligence support to the Fleet. He is co-founder and CEO of the Orbital Mining Corporation (OMC) a space start up founded by several graduate students at the Colorado School of Mines. OMC is currently designing a DC wired lunar transmission and storage system for NASA’s Watts on the Moon Challenge. Chris is pursuing an MS in Space Resources at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. His primary focus is developing a business case for the first lunar power plant, prospecting for volatiles, and producing rocket propellant on the lunar surface by the end of the decade.
