Joe Sleppy is an entrepreneur with a mechanical and electrical engineering background as well as experience in material science. He has been involved in engineering projects with power electronics engineering companies since he was 16 and has been involved in academic research since he was 18. His unique blend of skills and his network has led Capacitech to its initial success. Sleppy started his first business, SleppSolutions, at the age of 16, which successfully sold hands free fitness equipment to amputees. Sleppy used profits from this first venture to support himself during the initial stages of starting Capacitech. Sleppy currently has an electrical engineering degree from UCF, multiple published research papers, has won research presentation competitions, business pitch competitions, raised funding, and written successful federal grants. To recognize his efforts, he was awarded the “Young Entrepreneurship Award” presented by Governor Rick Scott.
