Dr. Davis George Moye holds a BS in oceanography from the Naval Academy, and a JD, MS, and PhD in electrical engineering from the Florida State University. Previously, he served in the United States Navy as electrical officer aboard a guided missile destroyer and, later, numerically modeling sonar. After the Navy Moye worked at startup General Capacitor, where he managed investor funds and over $4 million from federal, state and private sources to develop lithium-ion capacitors and related energy storage technologies, eventually becoming the company’s general manager. Moye is a project management professional, a licensed attorney, and is a lieutenant commander in the Navy reserve. He has over 10 years of experience in project management and electrical engineering, has authored several peer-reviewed papers, patents, and technical presentations. Recent successes include a contract to provide a solar-powered generator system to the US Air Force, a semifinalist finish in the NASA iTech program 2019, finalist for the Innovation Park Tech Grant Competition, and a winning team captain for the HeroX Ocean Observing challenge.
