Total Shade, Inc. has a pending patent on the combination of our patented insulating window shades, which insulate a building’s interior and reduce solar heat gain (SHG) by a value of 65%, and photovoltaic (PV) solar collection cells imbedded into the existing shade substrate, which will collect solar energy and transfer that energy to an on-site storage system or back into the power grid to be used elsewhere. To accomplish this, Total Shade has gone into a collaborative agreement (CRADA method) with the NREL.
