Constance C. Bodurow, Associate AIA, AICP, CUD, is a registered planner, certified urban designer, and Founder and Director of studio[Ci] LLC, a transdisciplinary design collaborative based in Detroit, MI USA (http://studio-ci.net/). Ms. Bodurow is an urbanist with thirty years of professional practice and 15 years of teaching experience in NAAB accredited schools of architecture. Ms. Bodurow holds master’s Degrees in planning/urban design and architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P). Her award-winning design and research address opportunities for achieving net zero energy at the scale of the structure, site, neighborhood, city, and bio-region; generative uses for vacancy; and hybridized infrastructure networks which embody equity. Bodurow and her studio[Ci] team were recipients of the LafargeHolcim Foundation 2017 North American Gold/2018 Global Bronze) design awards. She also served as fiduciary for a US Department of Energy SunShot Solar in Your Community Challenge grant, in collaboration with the Detroit 48204 neighborhood. Bodurow is committed to empowering the next generation and has recently joined the Instruction staff of SMASH Academy, teaching Design Thinking to high school STEM scholars.
