I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center. My expertise is rooted in developing innovative statistical and computational methods and algorithms tailored for various types of genetic and genomic data, including genome-wide association study (GWAS), DNA methylation, human microbiome, gene expression, and proteome data. My research objectives are twofold: Firstly, to identify putative causal biomarkers (such as genes, CpG sites, and proteins) to gain insights into the genetic basis of complex diseases; Secondly, to enhance risk prediction models, thereby contributing to the advancement of precision medicine. With this in mind, my expertise spans a broad spectrum of areas including statistical genetics and genomics, causal inference, statistical learning, machine learning, deep learning, and their application to complex diseases such as pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease.
