“It's just part of who I am.”
bio
Bill Rollins, is the inventor of NovelEdge Technology, an innovative low-cost combined cycle technology. He was awarded a number of patents for this technology. NovelEdge Technologies was a member of the ITM Oxygen Program, a DOE sponsored program featuring specialized membranes that separate oxygen from air. Integrating the process with the NovelEdge combined cycle process yielded a reduced cost, higher efficiency IGCC plant. Prior to being an inventor and entrepreneur, Mr. Rollins was an engineering consultant, providing Professional Engineering services to a variety of customers including General Electric, Teledyne, Sithe Energies, Calpine, TurboCare, and others. He has acted as an expert witness on a mechanical drive steam turbine failure representing the OEM. His testimony provided irrefutable evidence that the turbine failure was a result of improper operation by the owner. Mr. Rollins has over 40 years of experience in turbomachinery, power plants, cycle integration, and energy analysis. With this diversified experience, Mr. Rollins presented an award-winning paper at the 2012 PowerGen conference on an ISCC plant that can provide more than 45% of its output from solar energy input. Mr. Rollins is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of New Hampshire and has a BS and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine.
