bio
My research career has focused on the health of vulnerable populations who are systematically disadvantaged, including people with mental illness, elderly populations, the formerly incarcerated, and people living in resource-poor settings. I am particularly interested in the intersection of health and culture, and how cultural norms and traditions can be leveraged to better community health. I hope to continue to undertake action-oriented research that generates interventions and policies to strengthen community health by reducing social and health inequities.
