I am a Global Practice & Technology Leader for Black & Veatch, based in their Houston office. In the 1990’s I did research and process design for several major capital schemes whilst working for a major UK water utility. In 1999, I moved to the United States, initially providing operational troubleshooting and support for a contract operations company, but in 2001 I moved to Black & Veatch to work as a process engineer for their water technology group and have subsequently carried out several overseas assignments. I am the current chair of the Technical Practice Committee (TPC) and past national chair of the Municipal Resource Recovery Design Committee and Automation and Information Technology Committee for the Water Environment Federation (WEF). I serve on several international committees for the International Water Association (IWA) and on the board of trustees for the American Association for Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES). I am a past board member for the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) Envision review board. I have over 28 years of wastewater treatment experience from 4 continents including operations, design and research. He has conducted planning and design work for several major cities throughout the world including Chicago (USA), Washington DC (USA), Houston (USA), Singapore, Perth (Australia), Melbourne (Australia) and Kunming (China).
