Governance, security, unity, peace, progress, and supervision is becoming increasingly knowledge-based and technical and requires ingenuity, competence, vision, and unflinching commitment to achieve positive socio-economic and sustainable development. These broader truths are also germane to the aviation industry both at the national and international levels. Meeting this challenge is both realizable and remarkable, as the necessary technical/professional expertise, distinction, and experience exist in a young Nigerian. For about two decades, a young man has consistently joined hands in strategic re-engineering of the aviation industry, education and business sectors in the world and re-positioning it to yield sustainable socio-economic growth, peace, unity and safety to meet the demands of customers. This young man is Ogunbiyi Abiodun. Born in Abeokuta area of Ogun State, Nigeria, Ogunbiyi Abiodun is the President of Aviation Palace International (aka The Aerospace World). The company is an aviation, education, oil & gas and engineering consultancy firm with the fundamental aim of making the needed difference across the world; namely, to reposition the image of Nigeria by making Nigeria a country where unity, faith, peace and progress are truly the watchwords, and at the same time rescue the aviation industry in Africa. We are not only bringing the relevant science, mathematics and technology components of aviation to Africa, but also more importantly use it as a tool to inspire Africans to reach for new opportunities. Aviation is mesmerizing to young people, and provides avenue for inspiration that they may not have otherwise. We have found that this reign true no matter what part of the world you are in. Today, aviation is competing with other recreational activities. Therefore, we want students at all levels to feel welcome. We must share the opportunities available and invite you to the multitude of Aviation Palace International events that showcase aviation at its best. As a volunteer with To Love Children Educational Foundation International, Inc. (TLC), he has worked and provided tremendous assistance to forward our HIV/AIDS prevention initiatives and constantly displays a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and commitment, as well as intellectual depth and maturity. He served as a content expert and reviewer for our HIV/AIDS curriculum, Healthy and Smart, and diligently worked to ensure the text was both biologically accurate and culturally appropriate. Currently, he is serving as a consultant for a curriculum revision project that will add content to enhance the life-skills learning tools and cover a broader array of HIV-related topics. His input is always articulate, thoughtful, and respectful. Abiodun offered courses at the National Universities Commission in Nigeria in the fields of: HIV/AIDS prevention, traditional and modern methods of teaching and learning in higher education, curriculum development and evaluation in higher education, developing materials for open and distance learning, guidance and counseling in higher education, empowering students with special needs, empowering women for success in higher education, eradicating examination malpractices, and writing grant-winning proposals. In addition, he has completed courses of study in Aviation Science, Agricultural Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, in HIV Prevention (PMTCT) with HIV/AIDS Clinic & HAART for Africa, South Africa, and in Conflict Analysis and Introductory course on Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) through the United States Institute of Peace. He is dedicated to intellectual development, and is willing to make the necessary academic investments to ensure he is well prepared to pursue professional aims or support humanitarian causes. Abiodun is honest and hard-working, giving of his time freely to serve others while also persevering to build and develop his own company. He started his aviation career in year 2000 as a student member of the Royal Aeronautical Society England. He is also a member of the British Computer Society, England and a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers also in England as a result of which he rose to develop his own company. Abiodun is a leader among his countrymen, with a vision to establish positive business relationships in order to grow his company, and ultimately fill a much needed and life-saving gap in aviation and medical transportation (Aeromedicine) in Nigeria. In addition, he is working to provide legitimate economic opportunity to fellow Nigerians, as he has recently signed an agreement with numerous foreign organisations worldwide e.g. Medical AirXpress, USA. Having so many organizations across the world under the umbrella of his company is not a fluke, but an indication of his peace-making efforts. He is a unique man in his own class. He has demonstrated an exceptional ability to negotiate, manage and broker strategic alliances, and has proven diplomatic skills in working with diverse groups of people. Abiodun is an innovative thinker who stimulates critical thought in those around him, and is able to move people to make positive changes in policy, exchange ideas as a means to deepen understanding, and/or reach consensus on important issues. He has a great deal to offer the world and the African youths, as someone who came from a country with tremendous challenges to peace and stability, and yet has risen above the challenges to find ways to improve the lives of his brothers and sisters around him, to represent the positive potential of his country, and to bring awareness of its capacity for peace and economic opportunity as broadly as possible. Abiodun’s current projects are channeled towards bringing the youths of different background and beliefs together under one umbrella, Managing Crisis and Sustaining Peace among the youths using his products/services as veritable tools for unity, peace, motivation, and social re-engineering of the African youth. This is merely the next step in the significant ground work Abiodun has laid to be able to pull together his passions and expertise and leverage the necessary resources to make a significant impact in promoting peace and stability in Nigeria, Africa, and the world at large. His Aeroscholars Online Aviation courses/Programme also has the capacity to make significant contributions in advancing the understanding of peace and conflict issues, as its monitoring and evaluation component will yield important data from vulnerable populations in Nigeria, particularly those in the Niger Delta region. In addition, his focus on youth as a target audience will bring hope, empowerment, and training to those in the population who may want to pursue education, but have no means, or may be inclined to engage in illegal or conflict-producing activities as an alternative. Airplanes, by nature, foster excitement, and are often beyond the reach of many African youth. Thus, this project will naturally attract young people, and provide a unique and valuable platform both for creating individual sustainment and fulfillment, and preventing the perpetuation of corruption and illegal activities by providing a legitimate alternative. Moreover the project’s long-term effects aim to contribute to the betterment of the country as a whole, both by engaging and educating youth, and reversing the status of Nigerian aviation. Moreover, he recently signed an agreement with the Secured English Language Teaching System (SELTS), UK in order to make life and educational activities affordable and enjoyable for his compatriots. However, Abiodun is resolute in trying to be a force for positive change, and his courage in working to promote peace in other than ideal circumstances must be commended. He is a quintessential motivational speaker. He has also written a lot of articles on motivation and social re-engineering. He has presented papers at various forums and in several countries. Abiodun also wrote a book in 2000 on the future of Nigeria and its leadership with copies in the collections of respectable people in the society including the President, Governors and leading politicians. He is an exceptional, passionate young man who generously deploys his time, efforts and wealth of motivational skills and experiences in aiding the younger generations to find their footing on issues of nation-building, responsible citizenship, and good leadership. Abiodun represents one of the brightest futures not only for Nigeria, but Africa and the world as a whole. He is well appreciated and held in high esteem in the society.
