Problem Statement

The challenge is to overcome the limitations of traditional methods and existing certification standards, which only provide sporadic and subjective information, ensuring integrated monitoring of the performance of production units and serving as a robust basis for operational and strategic decision-making.

Current Solutions

The assessment of animal welfare in dairy production units is currently based on on-site audits and isolated technological systems (e.g. collars, thermal cameras, environmental sensors), which only provide sporadic information. Seeker aims to evolve into a continuous, objective and predictive monitoring model, capable of anticipating risks and supporting management decisions.

The challenge is to develop an integrated solution that collects and interprets behavioural, biomechanical, physiological and environmental data from animals, enabling early identification of signs of stress, pain, disease, thermal discomfort, locomotor problems and irregularities in cow handling. The solution should issue alerts, propose corrective actions and provide an intuitive and standardised dashboard.

The solution must integrate data from multiple technological sources (sensors, cameras, monitoring devices such as collars, and already implemented systems), have risk prediction capabilities, and adapt to different layouts of dairy production units. The solution should allow for a pilot project in one production unit and subsequently be scalable to around 1,000 production units spread across two European countries.

The aim is therefore for Solver to propose a solution based on the development of a comprehensive Digital Twin of the dairy production unit, dynamically and integrally incorporating behavioural, biomechanical, physiological, environmental and management dimensions, applying advanced computer vision technologies, multivariate data analysis and artificial intelligence.
