Composting your kitchen waste will not only create useful fertilizer for the soil, but also reduce methane and greenhouse gas emissions.
Describe your tip
You can either set up your own composting if you have land, or find out whether your community has any composting green bin program (if it doesn't, you can advocate for one!).
A lot of kitchen food waste is compostable. That is a better alternative to sending the kitchen food waste to landfills. The dark, low-oxygen conditions in landfills can alter the decomposition of organic matter and food leftovers to produce methane.

1st choice is https://www.kidsagainsthunger.org/who-we-are/ (because climate change is pushing more and more vulnerable families to hunger). 2nd choice: Friends Of Lakes, an Indian NGO. https://www.deccanchronicle.com/nation/current-affairs/010619/urban-legend-the-watershed-moment-for-bengalurus-lakes.html
