T&T your best friend on your hospital stay
short description
Tony & Tina helps you navigate the waiting forest and all obstacles on your hospital stay. They are nice, soft, fluffy and clever AI robots
Eligibility
Unfold your idea into a story connected to a specific situation (max 5000 characters)
Max is only 9 years old and diagnosed with a severe cancer. It is his first day in his chemo treatment. His parents have both taken the day off to follow their kid to the hospital.
Dad is in the driving seat driving the car, while mum is trying to relax Max. She is reminding him about Tony. A personal friend, fluffy and soft. One that never complains and always tries to cheer you up. It is supposed to know everything about the hospital, all shortcuts, everything about the cancer treatments and it can tell stories from the pictures on the wall at the hospital.

As they approach Rigshospitalet, signs towards the entrance for the children’s hospital helps them navigate towards a free parking lot. A big sign illustrates and explains that parking is free, they just have to get a ticket in the reception or type in the CPR-number on the patient. There are numerous free parking lots since this parking area is restricted to patients. Employees have to park on a parking lot specially established to them 5 min in bus from the hospital.
The little family get out of the car and mommy can see the nervousness in Max’s face. They walk towards the entrance where Max suddenly cheers up when he sees the big 3D hologram in front of the entrance. It is a 3D teddy bear, welcoming new patients. As they walk past the teddy bear two sliding doors open. Max can see a reception and a receptionist 30 m. inside the building. There is painted a red carpet on the floor leading to the reception. As they enter the sliding doors, they are met by a wonderful smell as if they were in a forest. The air is so light and warm. The little family goes to the reception. They are greeted by Pia, a happy, warm and welcoming woman who welcomes the small family with a happy and relaxing voice. She asks for Max’s CPR. Pia grabs a fluffy teddy bear, Tony. She scans Max health insurance card and suddenly the two big and cute eyes on Tony lights up. Pia hands Tony to Max and explains he has to say his name to Tony ”My name is Max”. “Tony replies: “Hi Max, I am Tony, I know everything about the hospital, and I will be your best friend at this hospital. I can teach you a lot things and I will make sure your stay will be a good experience.”
Pia tells Max to ask Tony “When is my appointment?” Max does so and after a few seconds of thinking Tony replies, “I can unfortunately see that Doctor Jensen has had to postpone your appointment with 15 minutes. Let’s go and do something fun?”
Pia smiles and the joy in Max’s face cheers up the entire family. Pia tells the family they can have a sit in the waiting forest. Max ask Tony to get the direction. Tony eyes changes, so they shows the direction to the waiting forest.

When they turn the first corner, they see what have created the light and perfect atmospheres they felt immediately at the entrance to the hospital. There are trees inside! They grow directly from the floor. When they arrive at the waiting forest, Tony speaks up “This is your first time at the forest. Did you know there are birds flying in the air, squirrels crawling in the trees?” Max looks up he can hear them, but he can not see them. Tony continues: “Do you see the glasses at the chair?” “Max replies “Yes”. Tony continues, “Go try them on and you will see that I am correct. This forest I full of life.” Max goes to a chair and puts on the glasses. As he open his eyes, it is like a new world. The birds fly around above him parrots, seagulls he recognizes most of them. Then he shouts, “Look mum a squirrel”. His mum is just standing there next to him and does not see the squirrel. She takes on another pair of glasses and is introduced to the world Max just entered. After a few minutes of looking at the life in the forest, Tony speaks up again “Did you know there are fish in the lake?” Max replies, “No, where is the lake?” Max takes off the glasses and Tony goes into navigation mode and directs him to the lake. Max sees that it is just a carpet on the floor with fish pretending to swim around. He tries to jump on them. He has now entered into his second virtual environment. The carpet is touch sensitive and where he steps it looks as if he steps in the water and jumps on the fish.
Maxs dad is looking at the other people in the waiting forest. There are kids struggling a lot more than Max. Some are so weak they have to sit in wheelchairs. However, they are not normal wheelchairs. They are Batmobiles and other superhero vehicles. The kids driving them are superheroes. Some has their drip bag encapsulated in a superhero box (Superpowers). Kids are sitting with their personal Tony or Tina and listening to the stories read aloud from the fairy tales paintings on the wall. It is like being a part of the fairy tale yourself.

The time flies 20 minutes after they went to the forest is Maxs Tony saying, “Max, Doctor Jensen is waiting for you at the reception.” Max and the family walks back to the reception where the doctor is waiting for them
How can your idea be implemented? Who can be a partner or supplier in realising it?
Robot (Tony and Tina), DTU or another university would be the perfect the match.

Waiting forest, have a look at DTU building 324. The concept is the same with trees inside, the atmosphere is perfect for studying. It could change the often dense and heavy hospital air to a light and joyful one.

VR glasses, Samsung, HTC or Sony can all deliver the needed technology.

Fish carpet, have a look at the boat sailing between Fredrikshavn and Göteborg. The carpet is on the ship, attracting so many kids.

Make a parking lot outside the city for the hospital personnel, to free up parking slots for patience.

Invite danish artist to create the fairy tales on the walls in different styles (graffiti, old school, cartoon etc.)

3D hologram, this is the only unknown in my concept. The Technology may not be fully developed yet, but it should be investigated, since it would be the perfect landmark for the best kid’s hospital in the world.
