Hi Ken,
There should be no problem with your example of an aerodynamic helmet. But, as noted before, anything in the operator budget may not be considered part of the aircraft and so cannot be considered in the drawings, Operator’s Manual, device configuration used for inspections or functional checks, Intellectual Property claims, or the safety case.

The Size measurement (SIZE) Guidelines state that the "operator is not included." Can the operator's flight suit have drag reducing or flight stabilizing/enhancing features, for safety or performance reasons, that are also not considered in the size measurement as the "operator" is not included? Can the operator's helmet be streamlined?
