Does JEDI apply to hardware track?

We’re Soulardarity, a nonprofit in Highland Park, MI. We’ve partnered with solartonic, a solar streetlight manufacturer in MI. Does the parallel JEDI funding apply for the hardware track? We had 1000 streetlights repossessed by DTE Energy in 2011. We’re organizing to bring solar power and energy democracy to Highland Park and beyond. If you’re interested in a community-centered and equitable partnership, we’d love to hear from you. Thanks for any insight!

My understanding is that the JEDI "bonus" only applies to the software track. HOWEVER, if you have a novel hardware solution to improve solar access and deployment that is certainly eligible for the hardware track... and in fact, the hardware track provides a larger amount of prize money. Just make sure your solution is a novel innovation and not simply an example of deployment. Happy to discuss further should you have any questions: labramson@cebn.org
