Fayetteville's Public School District with over 10,000 students has been actively involved in promoting sustainability and environmental education. As the district enters a new chapter, one notable recent development in architectural planning and construction is a focus on Net Zero sustainability practices. The construction of new schools are designed and built to meet rigorous sustainability standards while also producing as much energy as is consumed over time. This grant would be used toward energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, passive design strategies, water efficiency, healthy indoor environments, sustainable materials, and increased educational opportunity inside and outside the new building currently int he schematic stage of design.
