Founded in 1985 with a starting capacity of 4.8 hectares, the operation has grown to 133 grow out ponds totaling 224 hectares and producing 1,6000 M/T of shrimp per year. Sureerath Prawn is a founding member of the East Asian Organic Shrimp farmers association. Sureerath uses a closed recirculated aquaculture system where no discharge of process water occurs back to the environment except for natural evaporation.
