The goals of the ATLAS Competition are to design advanced blade pitch controllers that result in improved performance compared to the standard baseline controllers in use today. This is particularly critical for reducing levelized cost of energy (LCOE) in large onshore and offshore wind turbine systems.

Note: to follow this discussion, the participant is urged to perform the file download (from the competition website) and extraction process. Please see section 6. Extracting the contents of file download will produce a folder named “ARPA-E_User_Package” that contains several subfolders. These sub-folders are named “_BaselineResults”, “_Controller”, “_Functions”, and “_Inputs.” We will refer to these folders in various parts of this discussion, with a detailed discussion in Section 6 below.
