introduction
title
Preassembled PV Arrays
short description
Much of soft costs are tied to installation, so why not standardize, centralize, and highly automate in a factory setting?
Eligibility
Full Description
Material costs for traditional PV system installations have dropped significantly, but soft costs have not. This is because of high labor, logistics, permitting, and regulatory inputs. All of these can be compressed by standardizing modules arrays, interconnections, wiring traces and mounting pads in order to make them plug-and-play modular. If conducted in a factory, where quality can be controlled, measured and ensured, this can lead to fast-tracking permitting, lower on-site labor costs, and highly simplified grid connections.
